My dream about Mars, Johnny Cash, Trump and Confederates
I just woke up a little bit ago and I'll be up for a short time before going back to bed. This is normal for me as I have an infernal internal clock that wakes me up most every night at this time.
I had a dream earlier where I decided to to something different and I volunteered to go to Mars with a group of others to explore. My first mission was that I was to go out for several days, after receiving no training at all, and search for signs of intelligent life. My first day out was spent riding out a sandstorm in my survival tent. After the storm, I resumed exploring and came across a row of dusty arcade games. Proof that there had been intelligent life on the planet. Excited, I took pictures and decided to return back to base immediately.
Upon my return, nobody was interested in what I found because the big news was that back on Earth, Johnny Cash has been arrested for fraud and embezzlement. We all decided that what we were doing on Mars was boring compared to what was happening now on Earth so we shut down the base and returned to Earth.
The first thing I did was log on to DU to read what other DUers thought about the big news as Johnny was well known for participating in memorials honoring Confederates. As expected, people here were ripping on Cash, particularly for one recent event where a group of people dressed in Confederate uniforms were carrying a coffin draped in the Confederate flag and Johnny Cash, dressed as A Confederate general and with a wreath on his cheat, was laying atop the coffin. members were ecstatic that this high profile Confederate sympathizer was now in jail for skimming funds from various charities.
The other big news being discussed at DU was the press conference Trump gave where he blasted the authorities who had arrested one of his best friends. Trump complained about how Johnny Cash was humiliated by being forced to do The Midwest Perp Walk in public
