Wyoming?, Colorado?...One of these, or all of these, have roads like this.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
I know for sure there is a road in Montana in one of our National parks, that is as beautiful as this..
...Glacier National Park...Going to the Sun Road
Also, in California...(so you don't have to go to Montana)...at a place called Yosemite National Park
there is an overlook, at the top of a road...looking down 3000 feet....twice the height as the Empire State Building.
.
Take a look at Yosemite, incredible pictures...(about 250 miles east of San Francisco)..about 5 hour drive away from San Francisco ...(drive east...yes, if you leave very early like 6am, you can go to this park in a day..and return to San Francisco the same day....lots of driving...but this one is worth the drive) You will get back to San Francisco very late at night...like about 1am, but if you have never been to Yosemite,,then you got to go. Yes the pictures below are for real....I've been there..Yes, it is that beautiful,..If you hit the link below...that is if, then hit another link at that link, called...Glacier Point. You will see incredible pictures of that place...

What's different about Norway is that the whole country is like that - more than a thousand miles of spectacular mountain scenery.

(38,436 posts)Point is 3200 feet down. Yes, Preikestolen has no fence, or barrier, but Yosemite at Glaicier Point, is further down.

(38,436 posts)there are many other places to jump at Yosemite. I was climbing up a trail at Yosemite many years ago at Vernal Falls. At that point in the trail it is really a stair case up the side of a mountain. The lady behind me, fell and sprained her leg and couldn't get up. The rangers called for a helicopter to lift her off the side, and a horse & ranger came up the side of the water falls to help her out. ...
.....The trail was very steep as were the stairs at the falls, and the lady was climbing the trail...in gym shoes,
and at that point the trail is wet, (from the waterfall) and the gym shoes caused her to slip on the wet rocks on
that part of the trail..(yes the steps near the falls are wet steps)...??
.....She was rather ...STUPID, VERY STUPID !!!! CLIMBING A WET TRAIL IN GYM SHOES...
..WHY?
.........She must have thought that the trail was an ......"easy trail to climb" and never thought more about it.
.(I had on hiking boots and knew something about trails, because I had been on many before)...You see, that
is the mind of someone who is sure they know everything about everything..Yes, it is a "dangerous trail" but
that .".Stupid person", was sure she could deal with a ...."dangerous mountain trail in gym shoes"...
...Anyone who has hiked the trail up to the top of Vernal Falls at Yosemite, knows what I am talking about..
