My dog Buddy lives dangerously. He eats bees.....

Sits there by the salvia and waits - you can hear his choppers once he gets one - nails them with his teeth, then chops at it - when it is dead, he eats it. Just the big fat ones...not the smaller honeybees.

I wonder if they taste good?

whose old Collie used to do that while sunning himself on the back porch.

I wondered at how he never got stung. The bees must die in all that dog spit.

2. There's a saying, "Grinning like a dog eating bees." We had one who did that.

Bruno. He loved the things. We always wondered if he'd been stung because when he did it he'd also turn back and snap at one specific spot on his leg.

Bet they're sweet and crunchy, but the wings tickle.

They obviously taste so good they are worth the sting!

I'm growing Paper Lantern this year. We've still got sauce my wife made from last year's habenaros.

From what I understand only one gender of the bee can sting (forgot which). They live dangerously too, they will hover right around the dogs mouth making for easy hunting.

They will also go for wasps......
