Or any book or movie where it leaks that the beloved dog/pet/horse/other animal dies. Yeah, I can accept human loss more than animal loss-- in fiction, that is

I used to watch All My Children, they way over-used several plots, but the unknown twin is barely believable anyway, much less 2 or 3 times.

I really hate the death of animals also. I watched The Stray expecting a good story about a border collie. Not prepared for a sad story like that.

When the whole thing was apparently in the imagination of the one doc’s (forget his name) autistic son. Loved the series, HATED the way they ended it.

The older doc who was widowed and raising his autistic son alone. It was the boy’s dream or he imagined it. Horrible way to end a great series.
The only good “dream” ending was the 2nd Bob Newhart show when he woke up next to Suzanne Pleshette.

that was introduced late in the story and whose relationship to the victim was obscure and/or contrived.

When the cop is a family member of the victim and/or falls in love with the victim's sister/friend and is either allowed to keep working on the case or investigates on his own and does illegal stuff but you know he's going to solve the case in the end.

When the female cop/protagonist meets a guy she immediately dislikes but he's handsome and troubled so you know they'll get together and solve the mystery, unless he turns out to be the serial killer.

When one of the characters has a beloved pet dog or cat because you know the pet will be killed off as a warning to the character.

is one of the few things I dislike about some Stephen King novels. If he mentions a beloved pet, look out, 'cause chances are the pet will suffer a grisly death.

Son or daughter from the past comes to live with their estranged father/mother and their happy, wholesome family. Despite being welcomed with open arms, it turns out Sonny or Honey is really NOT the long lost child, but an evil psychopath determined to destroy the family.

Believe it or not, this was a popular story line on soaps many years ago.

Vivid descriptions of abuse. I just can’t handle it.

Anyone writing something like that should be in serious therapy.

It is the dark side of porn & comes from a demented narrowly sheltered & closed mind.
Its how Trump thinks of females.

I'm open to exploring & reading almost anything, but THAT topic is sick af.

I've done my best to avoid that shit in my sixth decade of so-called real life.

I'm somewhat broken by when I've failed. Especially the time travel stuff.

Amnesia and repressed memories I've dealt with.

At my very worst I'm mostly harmless and frequently amusing.

...I mean, how often have we seen *that*? Also--doomed, God-obsessed students who commit murder. Orphans who fall in with a gang of child thieves, led by a strange old Jew. A boy who's abandoned by his family to work in a bottle-labelling factory. An American journalist lounging around Europe, with his disreputable friends, who was made impotent by World War One. A man living in a hellish Dystopia, who rebels against the Party. Every time I see one of those, I moan and close the book...

In Vampire Academy There’s a dhampire named Demitri. In book three he turns into what ever the crazy ones are called. He leaves the school and it appears he dies. He doesn’t. Book 4 he’s still around.

states he killed his pet cat.

Sounds like my book, but unfortunately, it's not a plot twist. It's the whole reason why the Criminal (the sociopath) spends the rest of his life saving abused animals.
