6. There are so many kinds of monitor. But since their bites are very toxic, you can see why

he was so careful not to get bitten.

All those big ones have that issue. Kimodo Dragons were my frame of reference for that. They'll bite you and wait for the infections to kill you before they eat you.

8. I sometimes watch Dave Durham's YouTube channel. He raises monitors. He had one

he called Big Boy that used to cuddle with him to watch TV. Big Boy died some years ago, but here's a video of them cuddling in his recliner:

I would not have a pet like that. I'd be afraid to fall asleep at night.

10. He has several different kinds, and keeps them in special enclosures. One runs to him like a

dog when he calls him outside. Another leaps up on his lap to be petted.

He has Iguanas, too.

11. Big Boy died in 2014, I think. He was 15 when he died. I wouldn't have a monitor, but I have

often had other kinds of lizards, as well as snakes and turtles. I like animals. I have 4 cats now, but have had dogs, ferrets, parakeets, and fish in the past.

12. We had all kinds of animals when I was a kid...

And a few cats when I wasn't on the road. Now it's been almost two decades since i have had a pet. I am thankful my current place has animals who belong to the landlord but the cat has adopted me and we have a great love affair at the moment. He comes to visit every day and I made a cat tower/cave in my garage for him, he loves it. He's like a big kitten, loves to play and be held and brushed so I spoil the crap out of him.

13. Cats make great friends. Three of my four were feral rescues. One was the offspring of a

friend's cat who got out a week before her scheduled neutering.

I would love to have a dog again, but back and hip problems make it too hard for me to walk much, even with a cane, and I believe in giving dogs plenty of walk time.

My cats do like having me home all the time now.
