She doesn't like it when I confront non mask-wearing assholes at the store.
I went to Lowe's this am after a leak under the kitchen sink, (my favorite).
The guy walking in in front of me went right past the big sign that says "Masks are Required".
I said, "Hey, masks are required." He gave me a look, and I added "Can't you read?"
Another look. I said "Asshole!" I really have no more fucks to give.
So now we're right inside the store and he says "You should watch your mouth."
I said "Stay six feet away, it's you who should watch your unmasked mouth. You think I
insulted you? You are insulting every other person in this store." Then walked away.

1. I avoided confronting parents at a HS football game last night...same shit...

Masks were REQUIRED to enter the stands and social distancing was taped on the bleachers and along the fencing.
It was outdoors and warm, with a light breeze - nothing oppressive about wearing the masks...and yet 75-80% of the people in the area stopped wearing their masks within 15 minutes. They stopped observing social distancing within the first 30 minutes and they were screaming and yelling and cheering loudly within the first 45 minutes.

I isolated to the far corner of the bleachers, kept my mask on the entire time and was grateful for the breeze blowing across my position and away from me, but towards these asshole parents. I kept thinking how doomed we really are when the REASON for wearing masks is to allow their own goddamn kids to even HAVE a football game or season. My heart sank when I realized that classes start in person next week (2 days a week, half the students on Mon./Tues. and the others on Thurs./Fri.).

Kids model the behavior they are raised to accept. This is going to be a total disaster within weeks...

2. I stopped at a,convience store.

The young male clerk had his mask pulled down below his nose. I told him with a smile and what I thought was motherly concern, "It doesn't count if you nose is uncovered." He muttered something. So I just took my change and "Good luck....with your life." I'll not go back there until this pandemic is over.

3. Stopped at a convenience store last night. 15 people and I was the only one with a mask.

The Governor declared our county a Covid hot spot. Cases up four fold in five weeks. People seem supremely unconcerned.

I think they just don't listen to the news and only follow like minded idiots on social media.

is give them my very best MOM glare. The one that froze my kids on the spot and still gets my teenage grandkids to stop running their mouths.
