It just went on auction, the second bid is $250,000, and there are 12 days to go.

If you have any spare change left over after donating to ActBlue and you want to start a GoFundMe account so I can get this, I won't stop you.

1935 Auburn 851 SC Boattail Speedster
CURRENT BID: $250,000 ENDS IN: 12 days

This 1935 Auburn 851 Boattail Speedster has been in California since at least the 1950s and was owned for more than three decades by a collector who drove it to early Auburn Cord Duesenburg Club events on the West Coast. The car, chassis 33168, was then acquired by another collector who initiated a refurbishment but passed away before the project was completed. An Auburn restorer purchased the vehicle in a disassembled state in 2010 and completed the refurbishment in 2015. Finished in Swiss Green over Caramel Beige leather, the car is powered by a 280ci Lycoming straight-eight equipped with a Schwitzer-Cummins centrifugal supercharger. Additional features include a three-speed transmission, Columbia dual-ratio rear end, a Startix automatic starting system, hydraulic brakes, Caramel Beige wire wheels, a green soft top, and side curtains. Following completion of the refurbishment, this Auburn Speedster spent four years on display at the Blackhawk Museum in Danville, California. It is now offered on consignment in Emeryville, California, with historical photos, images from the refurbishment, an owner’s manual, and a clean Arizona title.

Isn’t that a beautiful car? Wow.....

I would give you the entire amount were I a multimillionaire. Unfortunately, I am but a middle-classer.

I cannot help with finances, but I can send a thousand best wishes your way!

(I can’t wait to show this car to my husband when he gets home.)

with a cold molded wood and stainless steel. Those engines were exquisitely designed.

The turbocharger was introduced in 1932, but all the J models chassis were were built in 1928. Jay's chassis is a 1931 and doesn't have the turbocharger.

When aerodynamics were "in".. If you told me a pea green and beige interior I would have puked but it really works. I've seen old British sports cars with that color. I did not know Lycoming made a auto engine. Their main product was aircraft aircooled engines
What a beauty. Good luck with the "purchase"...
