(8,492 posts)...omg...I love sunflowers.
Yours? I was thinking of planting some, but our yard is all rock. I almost killed my husband when I asked him to bury my cat. Planting anything requires a Bobcat. On the plus side, no more cats are allowed to die because they can't be buried. I've made a deal.
Now I'm craving sunflower seeds.

(33,032 posts)I've had much better results in years past; better photos and better flora.
Is there any progress on rebuilding the Birdcage and neighbors?
They had a huge benefit concert for the three businesses and turnout was awesome. John (Bird Cage owner) has said he will rebuild. There's a really old bar that they initially thought was lost, but it looks like it will just need extensive refinishing. The other two businesses have tentatively said they'll rebuild. I imagine it's going to be a slow process, but all the old "regulars" are ready for the grand opening!
Those are really beautiful. When I was little, my friend Kelly's mom would grow a patch of those enormous sunflowers every year. I was only about 6 or 7 and they towered over me. I fell in love with them. The stalks were as wide as my arm. For years every picture I drew had sunflowers in it.
