And it's a fucking Uber commercial. Kids, be careful of what you wish for:

"Careful now. Your daddy's not here to save you." says Sir Patrick. Mark Hamil replies, "Oh I am my daddy. Wait, what?"

(86,775 posts)I had to watch it the next time and then it took me a minute to realize it wasn't Billy Joel! And when I figured it out, I laughed. I hadn't seen any of the others at that point.

(86,775 posts)Star Wars, Mark Hamill and Star Trek, Patrick Stewart and they are having a face off about tomatoes it appears. The funny part is when Stewart warns Hamill that his daddy, meaning in the Star Wars movies Darth Vader turns out to be the father of the character that Hamill plays, isn't there and Hamill replies that he is his daddy is also a play on the relationship of the two characters in the movie only it just doesn't quite work in the context of where they are. Having been out of the loop in the scifi genre, it took me a moment to put it all together. Stewart looks much like he did in all of his roles where Hamill was a very young man for the movies that I am aware of and have seen so it took me a moment to realize it was him. At first glance I thought it was Billy Joel who kind of resembles the way Mark Hamill looks now as opposed to what I remember from years ago.
You had to be there, I suppose.

(7,428 posts)I know who they are and who they played. But they aren't in character as he calls him "Stewart". So it's kind of nonsensical. But amusing nonetheless.

(15,805 posts)the first 3-4 times I watched it I was so caught up in the moment all I focused on was Stewart and Hamill. What the hell were they doing, was it a trailer for some new movie? Then I got wrapped up in the humor. It took a few more times until I finally noticed it was an Uber commercial.
