I keep getting calls identified as "Area 246" followed by a number with my area code

Somehow they are skating by the robo call screening service, and always show a different local phone number following the area code, so I can't even block them.

Anyone else get these calls?

1. Area code 246 is assigned to Barbados.

(How I love being able to look up stuff on the internet!)

Chances are it's some kind of a scam call, so just don't answer.

5. I looked up the Barbados thing - I was thrown by the 2 area codes

2. Yes, I still get a fair number of them with the same area code as my phone.

I dont answer numbers that I don't recognize. I figure that if they are legit they'll leave a message. I typically google them after the fact to see if I can find out who they belong to.

3. I'm curious what robo call screener you use?

I used robokiller for a while. It was just okay. The answer robots didn’t stay on long enough to get to the human that might answer. I am looking for a new app.

4. I get Nomorobo free with my cable internet service

It works well, most of the time. Too well some of the time. If an actual, legitimate call gets trapped the caller hears a 4 digit code to enter, and then the call will come through.
