Sooooo it looks like I have a job!!!!!!

Only three days a week for now which is perfect as I ease myself back into work. 3 months to build a strategy they need and if I do shit right, which of course I will, full time job at the end of it. This is perfect, breaking in after a year out, and this is my area of expertise so I fully expect to kick splendid arse. I have a zoom at 0830 tomorrow to finesse the details. The only thing is they came in slightly under my salary offer, so I will suggest that they get me at that price for three months only, after that I expect my full offer. After all I went in 20k down on my usual, which I expect to be back at in 12 months - because when I have my game on I am really worth it. They are lucky to get me. Cheap at half the price as they say. She says modestly.

Of course since nothing is settled until January I will still seek other opportunities, but I am excited.

however I dont want to dim your enthusiasm but I have seen this happen many times. That is, hiring a person with a lower salary promising to raise their pay if they perform. Most of the time this does not happen. Negotiation at the start is where it does. Likewise, building a strategy for them sounds like they could take advantage of you. If you do it well, they can just keep it and dump you especially if you are part time now.
I really hope I am wrong and it works out for you in the end.

I am good at this shit. I am not signing anything or working for anyone unless it is cast iron. I am the rare woman who is not scared to discuss my value, and if they do not give me what I am worth, I will walk. Having had discussions about the part time, it is about shedding some full time who do not have my skills. But you are not wrong, maybe they want to take my expertise at a cheap rate and then dump me, I am not feeling that though. They need my expertise to deliver the strategy I will write, they do not have that internally at the moment.
