We used to drive out to Gulfoss and Geyser that were located close to the base in Keflavik. No tourist traps, no crowds, no entry fees, just me and my friends, out on an outing in the freshest air I've ever breathed.

I've never been to Niagara Falls, but I can't imagine they are much more spectacular than this:
