It's over and the winner is declared!

President? No. Biden won that shit days ago.
This concerns the on going battle of chicken sandwiches between Popeyes, Chik Filla, and late comer to the fight, Wendy's.

I purchased a chicken sandwich from each establishment today. Here's what I found.
Wendy's was the big loser with a smaller breast, lackluster seasoning, overlooked meat and soggy breading. You can do better at home with a deep fryer and you tube video.

Chik filet had a substantial breast. However, the breading was more wet than crispy, my guess is that the oil in the fryer was too cold or the fryer was overloaded, which results in mediocre breading texture either way. Also the flavor was oddly sweet. Not my jam. It also cost a little more than the other ones. It is almost like they charge more to make up for being closed on Sunday. I might try it again at the beginning of lunch rush because the breading was awful but the meat was well cooked and juicy.

And the winner!
POPEYES!
Crispy, crunchy, juicy goodness in every bite. Superior in every way to the competition. If you get the spicy chicken sandwich it is not overwhelmingly hot. The breast is comparable to CF. It is delivered fresh and hot. So crunchy! So little bigotry ! I loved it. I wouldn't change a thing.

3 out 5 stars. (Shout out to my fellow Timesuckers)

2. I prefer Popeye's as well but the problem at the Popeyes by my house ...

Is that nothing there is ever all that fresh, not even the uber-popular chicken sandwich (and yeah, I've only EVER had the spicy one).

The pickles on the Popeye's sandwich put it over the top ... WAY better pickles than chik-fil-a. And the spicy mayo is bomb.

I get a chik-fil-a sandwich it tastes like that chicken just came out the fryer, every time. Same with the fry situation. Actually chik-fil-a waffle fries are kinda better than popeyes fries to begin with. And the people at chik-fil-a are just generally nicer (like painfully nice) and more competent than the people at my Popeye's.

In order to get the best of both worlds I sometimes tell the Popeye's people I'LL WAIT for you to make me a fresh patty and fries!

Gotta admit I still like an Original Chicken sandwich at Burger King sometimes ... first chix sandwich I ever had, in the 70's ... and it's still IDENTICAL. Long as it's fresh, those are still good once in a while.

I know these opinions are subjective. I live in a very red area. I've been told that chik-fil-a (thanks for spelling it out properly) is God's chicken. .

God needs to hire better cooks in my town.

9. I only EVER go to chik-fil-a for lunch when Im at the office cause it's the closest/quickest place

to eat. Haven't been since I started working from home 9 months ago and would never go there 'cept when i'm in a hurry.

I WISH the Popeye's that's 1 mile from my house ... was nearly as consistent of a restaurant as the chik-fil-a by my work. I'd WAY rather go there cause when the chicken's fresh it's damn good. Plus no homophobia of course.

the drive through process down to a science.

And I like their chicken sandwich because you don't have to make a special order to get it without some awful sauce or (gag me) mayonnaise. I hate most fast-food sauces, don't really like sauces that much anyway. I have to pull the pickles off, but not that big of a deal. I like meat and bread on a chicken sandwich.

The other two, I'll have to ask what the put on it, tell them what to leave off (probably everything), and then hope they don't screw it up. My experience is that no matter how often I specifically say "No cheese, please," I get cheese 30% of the time. Might be worse with these sandwiches.

But I will eventually try Popeyes when I can go in the place and say to their face “no sauce” and watch them make it or check order before leaving.

Wasn't knocked out by it. Ordered the spicy but got the regular. I always like the Wendy's spicy. You couldn't get me to go to sick-fil-a if you paid me.

And the lines at the Popeye's by my house go around the building.

I'd do carryout from Popeye's every so often. Really liked it. At least then. It's probably been two decades since I've had any of their food, so not sure what I'd think these days.

But I did used to like them.

When they first came out in the early 80's they were on a wheat bun, came with mayo-onion sauce on it ... leaf lettuce and tomato, and it was AWESOME. Loved those things.

They've totally changed everything about them over the years and now they're terrible.
