First snow in Ohio.
Every year I lose a glove. Dug around my box of gloves to clean car off, and was reminded by the lonely single gloves from years past, (optimistically believe will find their mates) that I need a string, with a mask attached too.
Last year I lost a scarf.
Between hats, scarves, gloves and masks, no way I'm coming out ok, unless i attach them together like a 5 year old.

I do have a string for my masks so I can hang them around my neck when I don't need them. When I was a little kid I had mitten clips that attached my mittens to my coat sleeves. Can you still get those?

(1,200 posts)Are still available, thats exactly what I'm thinking. Clip the gloves, & another clip on string for mask.
I figured most people had rogue gloves (like socks!)
And my phone? Gah. Too many items!
I bought these pleated fabric masks from a friend's brand (denim brand) and they aren't inexpensive. He donates one for every purchase, so price is bit high. Great snug fit. I can see myself losing them.
Maybe i can attach my scarf, and just put the whole thing on!

(32,068 posts)Because I always manage to lose one.
I was gifted with a very expensive pair of fur lined soft leather gloves a few years ago.... and, yep, I lost one. Still have the solo glove holding out pathetic hope that its mate will turn up one of these years.
My husband bought me 4 pair of cotton wool ones.
I gave up wearing sunglasses in winter ever. Its just a wreck of "nice" versions of things, and dollar versions, in my car.
Can't tell you how many times I've walked up to my car after leaving a store, to see a crumpled lump on ground outside my car door. "Is that a glove?" Sigh, why yes it is.

(32,068 posts)I set my sunglasses down at a restaurant and too often leave without them. (Back in the days when I actually ate inside a restaurant) Buying nice, expensive, designer sunglasses would be a waste of money for me. I think with gloves, anyway, its because I have a habit of stuffing them into my pockets along with my car keys or phone.... when I pull one thing out, the glove comes out too, falls on the ground, and is lost forever. I,too, find that crumpled lump right outside the drivers side door on the ground way too often. Once I found one of my gloves with tire marks across it, someone drove right over it. It was pretty well ruined at that point, but I brought it back home anyway. I guess I just cant be trusted to own nice things.....

(1,200 posts)Funny how you think you are the only one. I do same with all the items in the pocket.
Lumps of gloves frozen to the ground, run over (not had this one!), fallen between seat edge and car door (found later, a near miss headed for the ground).
We can compare lost item count, come spring.

(1,200 posts)The expense. Ugh.
Somehow I do ok there. Misplaced but not lost.
Recently gave up & bought reading glasses, immediately got the chain so they're around my neck.
Gotta get a script and actual glasses, and the "price" versus "percentage chance losing" seems to have a correlation, for real.
