I'm not a huge fan of the new version. I feel this ad doesn't need humans in it. Though I do love the baking idea in the new one!

(10,014 posts)The change steps on its uniqueness of having candies represent bells. Adding people makes it more mundane and less festive.

(34,138 posts)The author explains why Hershey's tastes the way it does - back when the company was first starting, one of the Hershey people (I don't remember if it was an actual Hershey family member or an employee) went to Europe and got a job with a chocolate company to learn how chocolate was made.
He brought back the process but got it wrong, so the chocolate was slightly fermented in the process. That is how Hershey's Chocolate got it's, uhm, distinct flavor.
