Just said on the weather channel there are of people without power.

8. It's pretty intense

The 75 lb dog has been trying to crawl under my nightstand and I've been hearing branches falling and hitting our roof. I have our flashlight at the ready. So far our power has just been off and on, but in the storms that came through last week, our friends (5 miles away) were without power for 24 hrs.

10. I think the same thing came through here earlier today

Winds were crazy. My mother has a downed tree and is without power.

11. We had 60-70 mph winds here in northwestern Virginia, too. Power out at the house

but still on at the office, where we're going to sleep b/c otherwise it's so darn hot.

15. Parts of town have power out, but we came through fine. 60 mph winds

12. Woke up to find branches on the deck.

Mrs. V. said it was a helluva storm. I slept right through it.

16. I was pretty excited about the storm, but my wife had just gotten back from FL and had

been through six days of Tropical Storm Debby and was not happy or excited.

Roommate says the cable went out. For him, that must have been devastating...he's a wanker. Doesn't read, has no friends, never leaves the apartment, has no life. When the French-language news is your bestie and constant companion, you're lame.

14. I got an email that the weekly street fair in downtown Sil. Spr. is open at normal time.

Apparently the plaza was full of debris but they've cleaned that up. Also, at least some part of Silver Spring is without power though my neighborhood and Downtown and Wheaton have power.
