well, 2021 can already just go fuck itself

Just got a call that a co-worker was killed in a vehicle accident. Either today or last night.

He was still furloughed but we were working on bringing him back pretty soon. A new project I'd started really needed his help.

Our team lead is calling everyone to let everybody know. He did write a motorcycle at times, but I can only speculate at this point. Either way, this really hurts. He and I got along really good and worked well together. Always willing to teach and show people the ropes.

It was a rapid response test so he’ll go for a PCR as soon as we find a place

Meanwhile, the whole fam damily is off to a walk up testing site tomorrow morning. Tried this afternoon but the line was intense
