(18,402 posts)(not that I couldn't stand to lose a few), but I did make a resolution I thought would be easier to keep. It occurred to me when I decided to ditch the yoga pants and stretchy-tops I've been wearing all year (why not?) and put on something a little more festive for a small Zoom virtual party we were having on New Year's Eve with friends. I went to my closet to survey my wardrobe of "real" clothes, which haven't been worn since last March, and noticed almost everything I own is either solid black, navy, gray, white, or brown. Really? I thought. Am I that dull?
So my resolution was to add some vivid color and maybe even (gasp) a print to my wardrobe. However, since perusing all the after-Christmas sales, I still can't find anything I can picture wanting to wear. I will continue the search to fulfill my vow. The world is drab enough right now. This old lady is going to kick things up a notch for the return to life.

(9,275 posts)I watch my grandkids now and wear a tshirt/turtleneck/sweatshirt and jeans every single day. Donated most of my office clothes but kept a few nicer things for church and going out. Oh well. Hope to wear them someday (if they still fit).

(9,655 posts)They stayed off for about four months. Then summer arrived, and my brain said 'ice cream.'
Now I need to lose a number of pounds that I won't mention. But I blame it on the ice cream.
(And my total lack of will power.)
I guess I should try to put on my jeans. I know they won't fit. (Anybody else been living in sweatpants?)
That should be enough motivation to get me exercising and eating healthy again!
