The 2nd step for Kaavan: He will join the female elephants in the jungle soon
Darrick Thompson, who is overseeing Kaavan's transition at the Cambodia sanctuary, explains Kaavan's next step. Thompson is Lek Challart's husband and has been an essential part of opening up the Cambodia sanctuary as well as others in Thailand. Challart is the founder of the Save Elephant Foundation and Elephant Nature Park in Thailand. She has done more to promote the welfare of Asian elephants than just about anyone on the planet.
