Mitch Howie and Hugh Anthony Cregg II (Huey Lewis) went to the same junior high school in Mill Valley, but Mitch Howie left Clover before Huey Lewis joined the band.

(65,134 posts)An old guitar student of mine was pals with Jeff Tweedy when he was at Columbia Chicago for recording engineering. I met Jeff in the mid-90s, through my former student. He was with a player from Uncle Tupelo, who I think also ended up in Wilco.

Opened the show for them in '83.
Actually we opened for the opening act that opened for Cheap Trick.
But, all 4 of those guys were as pleasant as can be.
