Miele (a German brand of appliances) includes this warning in their instruction manuals:
"Reliable and safe operation of this dishwasher can only be assured if it has been connected to the power supply."
Because, apparently, they don't work so well with the hand crank.

(3,268 posts)some idiot must have attempted a lawsuit. I was building a small addition that required two exits to pass code. I had a sliding glass door but added a 4 x 4 slider window rated as an emergency exit. Sure enough there was a warning sticker advising that in an emergency you should first open the window and THEN exit...
