The Trump years coincided with my first major period of career burnout. There may be some correlation. I have lately discovered I have at least a little muscle to flex against upper management. I'm a profitable asset that they want to keep happy. I think if I exert more control over my clinic schedule, they won't complain much.

I do remember that during the Obama years, I was much happier in my practice, probably because the rest of the country didn't seem quite so hopeless and desperate.

A vodka Martini
Vichyssoise and a small glass of chilled Chardonnay.
Pear and walnut salad.
Grilled fillet of sole, with lemon and capers. A glass of a citrusy IPA to go with it.
Roast of lamb with mint sauce. Paired with a Chilean Malbec, woody bouquet, strong character, and a slightly acidic finish.
Raspberry sherbet as a palate cleanser.
Beluga caviar on toast points. A shot of lemon vodka to go with it.
A small steak salad with marinated truffles.
A smoldering dish of potted brownie, with white chocolate and brandy sauce.
Lemon sorbet as a palate cleanser.
A selection of fruits and cheeses.
Salted mixed nuts and a digestiv glass of port.
Coffee.

Champagne in the study, good friends, and after-dinner conversation...

I had a tooth pulled so I started as soon as I got home - 2:30 PM EST- but it was for "medicinal purposes only."

I have a bottle of Prosecco ready for Wednesday at noon, which I plan on drinking directly from the bottle, so I'll have to drink something else on Friday.

You can have a few alcoholic drinks for me too. I'm drinking plain Earl Grey Tea. I'm not a recovering alcoholic or anything, I'm just not a drinker.

I'm so ecstatic that it's the last weekend of this miserable MF45 and his administration's reign of terror.

Have a wonderful weekend!

2: Have you ever had Pliny the Tiny, a heavily hopped whiskey?

I was sleeping soundly by 8.

How do I calm a terrier. This guy wants to catch mice. But yesterday he barked his head off at a 2 year old wearing a dinosaur outfit.

Wish you could have been here to celebrate with us.

I confess I don’t know how to wrangle a terrier. I had a hard enough time disciplining dachshunds when I was a kid...

One toenail poked a hole in the back of my hand because he was jumping up and down.

The kids mom and dad laughed about all the fuss.

I'll never again take him out of the car while waiting to pick Mr ITW up from his job.
