Problem: I ordered a computer part (a small one) from a company in California. Normally they are very quick about shipping parts out and I receive them within a week or so.
This time, I ordered a part on January 6th, and the status checker continues to read "waiting for carrier pickup". They post this boilerplate warning:
Yes, I know I need to be patient. It's been 10 days since I ordered it, and apparently it's still sitting at their CA warehouse.
You having this situation also ?

(2,886 posts)I sent out Christmas packages the week before Christmas and they didn't arrive until after New Years.
My computer man said it takes 2-3 weeks for him to receive parts, whereas in the old days (last year), it would take 2 days.
My banker was complaining that it took her 5 weeks to get her new glasses and the excuse from the Optometrist was that there was a delay in the mailing from Texas.
On the other hand, I sent a small package to Germany and it took 10 days which is normal.
Also waited 3 weeks for glasses. My 1st pair. Hurry up I can't see.

(14,275 posts)I mailed a package of Christmas gifts to my daughter express mail on 12/6/20. Here is is, 1/16/21 and the package tracking still has it sitting in Nashville with an "expected" delivery date of 12/10/20.
The package was insured. We filed a claim on 1/2/21. One week later we got an email asking us to rate our satisfaction with the resolution of our insurance claim which they have not responded to at all.
The incompetence is beyond infuriating.

(6,931 posts)Price gouging and ridiculous shipping times IF you can get what you want in the first place. Many prices on cases are through the roof--they all come from China.
This crap reminds me of the ridiculous memory price rip-off about four years ago when those bit coin dummies were buying all they could buy and drove CPU's through the roof at the same time. The prices doubled on memory but have now dropped back down.

(1,200 posts)Quite a lot. Working remotely & even fed ex, 2-day, is off by a day.
I cancelled a printer item order bc it didnt even get processed by the company for days. That isnt shipping tho.
It took me 3.5 weeks to get something in December, languished mid-point of shipping---but i chalked that up to the announced xmas delays.
But it's happening still.

(23,322 posts)YES! I am seeing delays with all carriers (FedEx, ups, usps) in all shipping lanes. Places that are usually a 1-2 day transit time are now 3-5 days. Not that this applies to your situation, but I also ship via truck freight daily and those delays are even more extreme. Sorry to be the bearer of the bad news. It is super frustrating.

(2,037 posts)Packages taking longer to receive, even when Amazon is the shipping company. Also, a couple of lost items for which I was refunded.

(4,226 posts)It was mailed through the USPS and there is no tracking available since December 17th. All it says is it will be delayed .

(1,967 posts)My statements from the Bank of America and my credit union are coming days late, (when they come at all). A few days ago I received this email from the Bank of America:
We understand the United States Postal Service is experiencing delays. As a result, your Bank of America mail, including statements and year-end tax information, may also be delayed.
