find him funny. It's a hard gig and he's getting more relaxed daily. Remember Alex had decades to become Alex.

Alex had 36 years to get it a smooth running machine. Not fair to compare in my opinion at least so early on the change. Give him a year and see.

It is interesting that being a game show host is a skill and not just something any schmo can do. Trebek hosted many game shows before Jeopardy.
When they reran some of Trebek's very early shows last summer I thought he was terrible.

We have no idea if Jennings even wants the job. I think the game owners turned to Ken because he was kind of natural ridge from Trebek to whatever the future is.

He is fine with me. There was a time when I thought Alex was quite arrogant until he dialed it down a notch in recent years.

He doesn’t have Alex’s charm and presence, and I’m not fond of his voice. I’ve always found him to be arrogant, tbh. Maybe I just miss Alex and, in my eyes, no one can properly fill his shoes?
My friend and I have been arguing about this. He likes Ken just fine and thinks he whips through the categories faster than Alex, with less chit chat.

We watch/listen at work while we do prep and haven’t yet seen Tuesday’s or last night’s shows. Will be eyeing Ken more closely when we watch those episodes later today, lol!

I think they have a challenge to replace Alex.

Of course that is largely because he left such gigantic holes to fill.

But I feel it is partially because there is no longer a minor league in game show hosting. In the days that produced Alex, game shows were widespread and hosting was a career. It developed talent that could go onto bigger and better shows. Alex was on a half-dozen other game shows before he took on Jeopardy.

Since then, over the last few decades, there are much fewer game shows. And for the few that come along or survive, they have gone with celebrity entertainer hosts like Drew Carry, Steve Harvey, Jeff Foxworthy or Howie Mandel. Think about it this way, when is the last time someone became famous for hosting like Alex, Bob Barker, Pat Sajak, etc.?

I am not even sure Jennings wants it. Hasn't he stated that he is only filling in and has no interest in staying on?

As I posted in another thread, he comes across as an arrogant prick on Twitter (and those past tweets... )
