Cat must have been left by previous occupants. Knows the house, and tolerates us being there. Lord of the neighborhood and all he surveys. Plus, he likes to reach under the doors for treats we strategically place. We've been adopted.

Cat rescuer in town, people would drop their kittens off on the highway in front of my house. I never saw run over kitties, but I always wished they'd come to the door. I guess they were afraid of looking bad or afraid I'd say no.
