"Supplemental" debit card question. Has anyone gotten one...

Last edited Sun Jan 24, 2021, 12:54 AM - Edit history (1)

...for a weird amount? We got ours the other day, made out to both of us, for $220.55.

I was planning to retire in April. With this bountiful windfall, I may just do it now -

But seriously, what’s with the $220.55? Anybody who got direct deposit get an odd amount?

The first go-around, we received the full $1200.

It sounds like you make over the amount for the full 600 per or 1200 couple. LizBeth Jan 2021 #4

Perhaps a few calls on Monday morning might be in order. If it were me I'd be wanting to know if it's really available and not something you might have to give back at a inconvenient time.

I get $25 a month EBT (food stamps) and it comes from the state of New Mexico.
I do not know who funds them for it.

I have never been given any amount other than an even dollar.

My money goes on to a state EBT card.
Not a debit card except that when I use it
it debits the amount from my EBT card.

I can only use it for food and cannot withdraw any cash.

1040 AGI.

BTW,those friggin EID cards are a rip off, unless your own bank in the same system as your card issuer, you get hit with out of system charges if you want the cash. US Bank Corp is our CU host and it ain't going to happen. Spend two days doing work a rounds in-order to move the cash out to our CU accounts.

The enclosed Paper Work is a total piss of sh*t. When you find out where a local ATM in system is located, good luck, usually the daily limit is about half of your card balance, first withdrawal is free, but, the next is a 25 cent charge. If you use the Wal Mart Money center, you will get hit for $3.47 for each withdrawal and the limit can very from store to store and state to state.

have one's 2020 AGI yet. Then when one files their 2020 taxes, if the 2020 AGI on the tax return is lower than the 2019 AGI, they will adjust it to make up the difference (bigger refund or smaller amount of taxes due). If the 2020 AGI is higher than 2019's AGI, then one is entitled to a smaller amount of stimulus, but they say they won't ask you to pay back the difference.

Edited to add: I checked both the ones I got in May and the one in January, and they were exactly the right amount for my 2019 AGI -- I'm one of those who was entitled to a partial payment but not the full payment because of my AGI. In 2020 I expect my AGI to be higher, but I won't have to pay back the difference (the difference between what my stimulus payments were based on my 2019 AGI and what the stimulus payments should be based on my 2020 AGI) and I don't intend to.
