BTW, those are not docked tails. Many Aussies (though not all) are born like that.

(65,377 posts)4. Some Aussies do have docked tails, but unlike with most dogs, there are actual medical
reasons for docking some Aussie tails. I hate ear and tail docking in almost all cases, but if an Aussie is born with a tail, it can sometimes cause problems. Of course, many with tails are never docked and do fine, but others have brittle tails that get deformed or broken. But those born without tails are fine.
