I registered online for the Covid vaccine on Friday, Jan.22. I'm 68, I have serious heart disease and anemia. Everyone I know (65 and older) have received their vaccination appointment. I've tried calling the211 number that I'm supposed to call if there's a question twice, and I'm told that they can only take a message. They've taken two messages from me and nothing happened. Then I decided to call my cardiologist to see if he'd help me out. No. Then I called my PCP to see if she'd help me. No.
I'm anxious and highly stressed about this. I don't want to be vaccinated in May or June. It's first come, first served.
Any suggestions, anyone?

(22,037 posts)I received my first shot of Moderna vaccine a week ago. Their computer was down so they could not make an appointment for the second shot. They told me to book the appointment online but there are no appointments available in the eight day window I have to get the second shot.
If I cant get an appointment I think I will show up at the site and explain my problem to the supervisor. Maybe theyll be able to help me.
Good luck and best wishes.

(4,999 posts)Online signup for appointments open up at odd times of the day -- my SO tried once every few hours -- original appt was Mar 5, but an appt opened up for today, which appeared late last Friday afternoon.
It's a mess. Keep trying. I bet the people you are calling are absolutely swamped, they may not be able to perform a miracle and have any priority to put you in a scheduling system that is getting absolutely hammered.

(70,711 posts)From the start I thought I'd wait a couple of months to see how things went. A couple of my (even) older relatives (I'm 74) have gotten the first round. But in my region the routine is big events on a first-come basis, meaning caravans of vehicles, some overnight, then Running-Out by the time of opening time at 8 AM. I can't do the overnight thing, have to go the bathroom frequently and there's a dog involved. But am quarantined (like everybody?) and have no contact outside except for groceries/pharmacy, have tested Negative three times, so can wait?
Can I offer comfort?

Our PCP knows nothing either. Very frustrating.
