My house is on a corner lot and the road was really, really chock a block with high, rutted snow. Cars were spinning their tires, all day, yesterday. So I dreaded what kind of nightmare I'd find, after the township plowed the street. Some years I've had to deal with 12+ inch high and wide ice berms.
But, this was today. 1st photo is what the left, 2nd is the dent I made. There's plenty of room to navigate my car, even though I'm not going anywhere until tomorrow. Regardless, I'll clear more, later. Right now it's only about 3 degrees, and I'm such a delicate flower.
Not bad work for an old dame, is it!

I'm a delicate flower too since I left after the April blizzard in 1996! Thanks for the memories!

(26,266 posts)A few years back, after a slightly higher snowfall that happened during warmer temperatures, they left a sizable and icy berm in my driveway. It took me forever to clear it, and just as I was finishing, they guy came back, again, repositioned his truck to gather up snow and ice that had ALREADY been moved to the side of the road, and he pushed it right back into my driveway. And he laughed.
Shortly after he headed up the street, one of my neighbors came running down to my driveway and said he just witnessed what the guy did to me, and he was doing the same thing to another driveway, up the street. He said it was obvious he was purposely re-blocking people who were out there, struggling to clear things up.
I wrote the township a VERY detailed email but it was a waste of time. They got so many complaints, they put out a statement saying there's nothing they can do about these 'incidents' as they are an unavoidable byproduct of clearing the roads. However, it's never happened again. Yes, I still get a snowy/icy mess deposited but nobody has actually made a return visit to move snow that had already been plowed.
