Our younger daughter is making plans to help her sister knock several things off her bucket list. Originally, she was planning to surprise her with a cruise with her friends, but then Covid-19 happened. So she asked older sister for a list of things she'd like to do. My younger daughter shared the plan with me last night. I am so impressed and proud of her for coming up with a unique way to observe her sister's birthday.

(32,718 posts)I wanted to do something special to mark the occasion, so this took a little advance planning. We rented a house on Lake George (upstate NY) for a week in August. We made it a mini-family reunion and included various sisters, brothers-in-law and cousins so that we could all split up the cost. When you plan far enough ahead, people can usually make travel arrangements and schedule time off from work. Long story short, it was a wonderful week in upstate New York, and a memorable birthday celebration.

(17,011 posts)I'll learn about something I haven't heard of.
One of the bucket list plans is to hike part of the A.T. (Appalachian Trail)
I'll enjoy hearing about that one lol I wanted to do that a few years ago. When I was in Maine, my son-in-law took a picture of me standing at the northern end of A.T. That is as close as I got.
