I went to my son's house this morning, for the first time in a year, and was greeted at the door by my two-year-old granddaughter bouncing up and down. We had a great visit.
I'm so thankful for video chatting or she wouldn't have even known who I was.
Thank you, Pfizer and President Biden and Governor Polis and Dr. Fauci and............the list could go on and on.

(8,445 posts)I was just reflecting on what a wonderful day it was. I guess one thing this year of isolation taught us is that we really need to cherish every moment.

(8,445 posts)I even got a present. It's a work of art from my granddaughter. My son had it matted and framed and it's beautiful. The kind of art only a two-year-old can create.

(8,445 posts)I decided it was close enough because I needed to see them on a weekend, and I sure didn't want to wait another week.

(4,079 posts)I am also in Colorado. My group just came up (50+), but I haven't been able to get an appointment. My husband is fully vaccinated now. I'm SO anxious, it's all I can do to wait my turn. But I AM happy for those people who have been able to get vaccinated.

(8,445 posts)My daughter signed up with a couple of pharmacies to be called if there were extra doses and got called yesterday, so she got her first shot of Moderna. She was also having a hard time getting an appointment, so she really lucked out. Maybe that could be an option for you too.
She was qualified to be in the current group for health reasons, but I think when it comes to the extra doses it doesn't even matter. They just don't want them wasted.

(8,445 posts)This afternoon I visited another son who lives closer to me, and held my 7 month old grandson and got a quick hug from my four-year-old grandson. He was busy coloring Easter eggs with his cousins, so he didn't have a lot of time to spare.
Yes, things are definitely looking up!

Days of Jubilee!!
Some little children in our neighborhood dont really know what we look like without our face covering. (In my case, they **may** be shocked!)
Congrats on your real hugs!!

(8,445 posts)They need to see expressions. The good thing is that kids are pretty resilient, so hopefully everyone will catch up.

(8,445 posts)They made sure that we got to have video chat visits at least several times a week, so she was very excited to actually see me in person. She kept taking my hand and leading me around the house to show me things.
