I'll be listening for hours now.

Playing the music from that era really takes me back.

Somehow she's now 80 years old. She still very talented, and still just a very wonderful person.

Her affair with Bob Dylan was so public, as was the awful breakup. I remember thinking he might be a great songwriter, but he was an idiot for not knowing what he had, because he treated her so poorly. I have no doubt that Joan Baez loved him dearly. I don't think he was able to give love back in the same way. It was sad to see the very public breakup of these two amazing artists and musical talents. She is still an amazing talent and an activist for causes she believes in.

Well, not of his singing. Songwriting, yes.

I just love everything about Joan Baez.

Years ago I "played around" on the guitar, which doesn't really come close to actually playing. Then I just got to busy in life to play enough to keep my fingers in shape.

My dad was a pretty good guitar player, and played basically the same style as Joan Baez. I loved listening to him play. I wanted his guitar after he died, but my younger brother took it, and I'm sure it's either sitting in a box somewhere, or has been thrown away. It needed repairs, and I doubt he bothered to have them done. He never played (or even played around).

too, mostly Spanish classical. I fell asleep for years hearing him play downstairs, under my room. My mother gave his guitar to my brother when my dad passed, and he sold it on eBay. So I know the feeling

If your brother still has it somewhere, not using it, you could ask him about it, right?

He lives about 1200 miles away, and we're not at all close. We send each other brief texts once or twice a year.

He's got some weirdisms and I don't want to stress him. He's an odd duck.

Mostly for the opening act, which was Bruce Cockburn, but getting a Joan Baez concert as a free add-in? Yeah, I'm there. Baez did "Diamonds and Rust" and got to the last line, which is written, "But if you're offering me diamonds and rust, I've already paid." She amended it to "But if you're offering me diamonds and rust, I'll take the diamonds," with a sly wink.
