I think Skittish Kitty has figure out my routine

I went out at about 4:30 to put out the food. I barely made it back into the house before she came trotting up. Then, today I actually came back out and sat on the deck, about 10 feet from the food bowls, and she just kept on eating. She walked away, sat down, had a good scratch, and watched while I put out a little more food and a bowl of water. When I returned to the deck, she came back ate some more.

She really is a pretty kitty. I just wish I had a better camera to get some good zooms.

9. She's a Feral

I've had a small collection of them hanging around my property. Most are very afraid of humans. She used to run away, the instant she saw me but now she's starting to sit quietly and watch me - as long as I don't get TOO close. If I can get her comfortable enough around me to be able to give her an occasional scritch, I'll consider my time on the planet to be validated.

And, to be honest, I'm not even sure of the gender because I can't get close. There's a big Buff colored and very obvious Tom that sometimes comes around. I've seen him marking territory on the maple tree and, unfortunately, on the old cat crate I'm using as a shelter. I haven't seen him lately.

There's very little you can do with animals that's more rewarding than earning the trust and maybe even love of a cat like this one! How great for you and Kiteh.
