(9,952 posts)roam around outside regardless of their responsibility. She did not hurt the cat trying to shoe it away with snow, big deal. But in the process was hurt. Cat owners, be responsible.
I lived in complex where cats were all over. I would walk dog late because I worked, like midnight. I would have a cat stalk my dog, threatening. My dog has never fought, I did not want to have to deal with a dog/cat fight, I did not want to have to deal with a hurt dog at midnight after a long shift, I did not want to get hurt having to deal with someone's damn cat and I was pissed I had to be aware where the damn cat was every night with my dog on leash.
Another place we had the damn cats fight regularly late at night, early morning waking us.
Take care of your cats.

(205,549 posts)I would no more let my cat run around loose and unsupervised outdoors at all hours anymore than I would my dog. There are way too many dangers out there and it scares me every time I see one. I've rescued two cats from outdoors including the cat I have now, found him as a kitten in a supermarket parking lot in 2014. *sigh*

Don't go messing with animals strange to you.
