(38,434 posts)I wonder if the kids in the video, who seem to love this, know who wrote it. They will also listen to this again, and again, & again.
As you watch, please note that everyone seems to enjoy this piece of music. Yes, Everyone!! The conductor, the people
playing the music, the people watching the music, (including the kids) and those of us watching this video. It is a very
happy piece of music. I heard it for the first time 50 years ago, but I listen & watch again and again. This video helps me to smile. I hope it helps you to smile too.

(22,691 posts)I hope we have learned to be more reverent. I'm not sure life will ever be as fun and free again and it makes me really sad. Thanks for sharing this, Stuart G. Even though it made me cry. Thank you. ❤

(8,333 posts)It tells me though that I am broken. This type of video would usually bring me great joy, and it did, but first 2 times watching it brought tears. Prior to the Trump Presidency, Covid, contracting Covid and 1/6, I was not an emotional person. Things like this would not have brought tears
now
.I have to reword my brain that we will be ok.
Thank you for posting this and the joy it brought.

(1,132 posts)but love much more the Ninth in its entirety. Somewhere I happened on an interpretation of each movement and how they all fit together which gave it more meaning to me, as if it needed that. I can't listen to it without an Art Attack.

(5,401 posts)You don't get that quality of sound in a crowded, open place.
But great.
Seen it before, still brings tears to my eyes. The crown reaction, the kids, more so than the music.
The music too of course.

(789 posts)It always, ALWAYS!, puts tears in my eyes. I especially love seeing the children's reactions.

(32,645 posts)... but how many are aware that this is the anthem for the EU - the European Union?
All of the countries in the EU play and sing this anthem because it unites them.

(2,692 posts)The little kids amazement and enjoyment, leading the orchestra, the little girl on the lamp-post, the first little girl, the crowd gathering and enraptured, deep emotion, delight, and pleasure on their faces. The faces on the members of the orchestra when they had finished. This is what humanity is/should be all about.
No, I did not cry. It was the drops I have to put in my eyes is what it was!
