My momma and I went to dinner for the first time tonight. After enduring my father for lunch. It was a nice change.
We were the only ones in the restaurant. I had Pho. One of my favorite dishes. I missed it so so much.
But it was just nice to be with a parent that is understanding and has the same views. I don't have to feel weak around.

(149,625 posts)After the awful time with your father, this must have seemed like a dream.
And you had your favorite dish too!
That's the way to live: with the people who get you and who love you.

(10,156 posts)My mom and I are both extremely liberal, but we don't talk politics since we know it doesn't have to revolve around everything. My dad does it to get a reaction out of me, which he doesn't get really. I just roll my eyes and wonder why I did this?
But we mostly talked about going on a small get away to a NM cabin. Just to get away from Texas for a bit lol

(32,769 posts)We still havent been in a restaurant. Now that the weather has turned nice, we get carry out and take it to the park. Table for 2 by the water, entertainment: geese and ducks squawking. No unruly ppl at the near by table to ruin our meal
Dont know...,we may never go back to dining in!

(10,156 posts)But honestly this place is relaxing inside as well. No one there at 8:20 in the evening. Just enjoying a nice bowl of Pho and fried dumplings. It was a nice change. My mom is fully vaccinated, I'm partially right now.
