2021 Litter season finds ( so far)

So, I've been a volunteer for 20 years and have a sweet little whellie, etc....to pick up litter. I always have kept notice of weird items, and through the years, as tech has come along you would see new products tossed from windows by slobs. Hee's the list so far (8 weeks counting...)

1. vape pens... HUNDREDS of them!

2. masks...HUNDREDS of them

3. 'Little trees' car deodorizers ( always a classic)

4. cell phones, some still power up

5. various wiring for devices.

Weirdest thing found so far: a new-in-box robotic mask, still Xmas wrapped.

I'll post the end result sometime in October, at the end of this season's run. And anything really weird in between.

1. One thing that I notice frequently in parking lots - discarded dental floss picks

5. Plenty of those, and jettisoned underwear of all types.

what kind of area are you working? roadside, parks, neighborhood walkway?

6. I work a 60 mile area.

Well...20 miles but you have to walk both sides and the median, plus occasional wrecks, stuff like that. Tomorrow will be a nightmare, it's a hidden exit and I will have to haul out the bags instead of leaving them, since the State trucks don't go in there. Yet, it's disgusting.

3. My husband does the garbage walk

every morning for over a year now. Sometimes up to 4 hours. Today he found a $10 bill in the grass and last week a brand new pair of Costa sunglasses that fit ME just great. Polarized with mirrored lenses. They were too tight for him. Looked them up online and found out they cost $250. He has had people hand him $5 and $10 and say thanks and one lady stopped her car and gave him a $40 Home Depot card for 'supplies' and the owner of the garden center near the house in Milwaukee gave him a $50 gift cert for plants/soil. He is certainly not looking to be paid or thanked and is out there being a good citizen. That is who he is. God bless him and ALL of you garbage folks.

7. Never had anybody give me money, but...

I have found fake $100 movie bills, and real cash over the 20 years. So far this season a lousy 28 cents! Over all this time I have had one person offer me a bottle of water. One.

9. a motel owner

just last week came out and gave my husband a bottle of water and a can of beer along with a thanks!
