never a mushroom forager...

but I can recognize a few and will eat puffballs and chicken-of-the-woods when I come across them... today I went to my garden to pick the asparagus and noticed dozens of 2-4" strange fungi throughout the garden... I have never hunted for morels but today discovered I don't have to... I had asparagus and morels for dinner

research told me that they are "black morels" and it appears the spores must be from the truckload of mulch that I had delivered and put on my garden last year
