Seeing elephants near the very urban power plant is an interesting thing, I have only seen them in rural settings.

No masks on the Chinese (wildlife?) officers? maybe things are getting better

I didn't realize that China still had wild elephants. I hope that they find the home they are apparently looking for and continue to thrive.

The story itself is a great PR coup for China that seeks to project a softer image. However, China is also the #1 buyer of the illegal ivory trade.

Perhaps this story will change hearts in China about contributing to the deaths of African elephants.
