The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI've got to hand it to the kid who is trolling/pranking my neighborhood this evening...
He's got himself a good, fairly wholesome prank. He's slowly riding his bike up and down every street in the neighborhood -- one-handed, because in his other hand is a wireless/Bluetooth speaker which is blasting out ice cream truck music.
I heard the music get louder then fade away, louder then fade away as he was on neighboring streets. As it got very loud I looked up from what I was reading expecting to see the truck drive past, but it was an adolescent on a mountain bike instead.
And he really did his homework. It sounds exactly like our usual ice cream truck (a version of "Home on the Range" which is very high pitched and jangly even for ice cream truck tunes). I spent some time googling and could find anything which sounded just right like he did.
At the risk of sounding like an old curmudgeon, it was refreshing to see a prank without vandalism, littering, embarrassment, fright, or battery -- because those aren't really pranks but often seem to pass as such these days.
Good job, merry prankster!

(14,858 posts)I wouldn't be surprised if some people got really angry about it, if they're perpetually uptight.
The ice cream trucks always play "Music Box Dancer" around here:
