Today's cat tale

I turned around to see Spooky being Spooky and staring spookily at me. Normally Spooky runs when he sees me. I have noticed a muting of the copper color that tipped his fur so maybe the food I'm putting out is helping his nutrition.

But, damn, those eyes!!!!!

Someone mentioned it could indicate a nutritional problem. Siwsan Jun 2021 #2

He just looks a bit healthier. But he's still a big scaredy cat.

When he finally got close enough it turned out that he had a lot of hair loss due to malnutrition and skin condition. After a month of good food his hair grew back and he gained some weight. But still haven't been able to correct the skin condition. Stray cats will only let you go so far, sigh...

My skittish kitty, Mr. Cat, actually came within inches of me today! He started eating from the bowl as I was putting food in it, and then after he was done eating he just sat down and looked at me, then walked closer and sat on the porch steps only about a foot away. He backs off if I move toward him, but he seems less and less skittish. Yay!
