The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsDoes anyone get stuck on a song and then.....
listen to it to death. Dance to it, eat your cereal while singing it. Have it playing in your head no matter what you do. Then you find another song and do the same thing???

(33,643 posts)That's very abnormal.
You should maybe see somebody about that.

(939 posts)I was thinking about that but they are so expensive.... Anyway....I get hooked on one song and go crazy on it. Then I move on and do it again. I like it.

I am pulling it up on my tv and gonna dance......You are responsible

(4,671 posts)Yellow Submarine. Knocks the earworm right out and does not take its place. It's also my go-to method of calming down in a tense driving situation, like in a blizzard or hauling teenagers around.

(115,875 posts)Usually classical music because that's what I mostly listen to. Sometimes some bit of music will get stuck in my head and get played there over and over for hours, until I chase it out with some other music.

My song to sing to override earworms? Sweet Baby James.

(16,334 posts)because it was so loud in my head.
Ear worms are chronic but for me it has something to do with certain songs. Some just get stuck stuck. Others can be replaced the next time I listen to something else.
Lately, old songs have been randomly popping in and that's freaky. As in ballads or movie themes I haven't heard or thought about in years.

As long as you remember the product with it.

(24,054 posts)with a passion, I wont buy the product.

(3,266 posts)I did that with. Heard it on a TV show and loved it, bought it on iTunes and listened to it constantly for a couple of weeks.

(26,117 posts)My latest is Believer, original and medieval version. At times I've had my own radio station in my head playing song after song, even switching songs if I didn't particularly like one.
I really only noticed all of this after I heard a distant relative was going to be totally deaf by 60.
