My kitten's purr is almost inaudible, so I LOVE this!

(115,869 posts)kittens often do seem to have loud purrs. One explanation might be is that kittens have less cat surrounding the purr to muffle it than a full-grown cat.

Another male cat of mine, who died several years ago at the age of 19, had the loudest purr of any cat I ever knew. I miss the sound.

As she has gotten older it has reduced a little but it is still loud.

(115,869 posts)It would be unusual for a kitten to snore, and when cats do snore it's a sort of high-pitched buzzing with a pause because snoring doesn't happen when both inhaling and exhaling. I have lived with several snoring cats and this isn't it.

Until you found him, laying down by himself, just motor boating away.
By contrast, my current rescue tom has an imperceptible purr. You have to touch him to feel it.
