Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI keep looking outside hoping for rain tonight.
I want a shower to douse any fireworks. Yes, I'm a killjoy. I also care about the critters and PTSD people out there. Plus, it's hot and humid and we need to cool off. OTOH, if people can't shoot their fireworks tonight, they will be playing with them the rest of the week which will be worse in the long run.

(26,290 posts)They like to shoot the fireworks out over my house and yard, leaving me with a BIG mess to clean up, the next morning. The
man of the house' works with law enforcement so calling the police is a waste of time, as several neighbors have learned when his kids vandalized their homes.
IF, by chance, they do come back to the house and start firing things up, I'm setting my oscillating sprinkler up in the back yard and do my best to angle it in a way that will, perhaps, dampen some of the irritation, or at LEAST give my yard a little protection.
There's a massive empty parking lot, just up the street, where they could set those things off to their heart's content.

(22,166 posts)the authorities on those that still shoot the fireworks later on. I and my 3 dogs will be so happy to finally, finally have some peace and quiet. These people are so rude, so inconsiderate in shooting these fireworks off, for those who have animals. Personally I hope everyone of them has a firework go off in their hands (not really but I have seen people who have suffered this injury, not fun).
I hate fireworks (but not the kind they shoot off in a barge (handled by professionals)). I wish that they would make them illegal or make them pay a big disturbance fee/tax when they buy the fireworks, for they are disturbing all of their neighbors, pets, wildlife, my sister and her husband's cattle, etc.
