That's what I call a busy day anymore.
THURSDAY, I go to physical therapy. That's going to be a tiring day.
Between covid, my health, And this Delta variant that they are still studying, I find myself doing something more than I ever have. Lounging. It's even been more so since the election.
Anyone else finding themselves with time way to much time kicking back?

(23,785 posts)Mostly they're home projects, like repairs and upgrades around the house. But also going through old files and weeding out stuff that's not necessary to keep anymore. Also tons of photo's that after I'm gone no one will want anymore, heck I don't want them now. Going through my closets nd removing stuff I haven't worn in years and probably never will. Biggest eater of time is the photos I do want to keep and share with the family. I'm scanning them onto an external hard drives. I'm creating one file of family photos some historically important for my family, some vintage, but most from my childhood through to today. Family birthdays, weddings, vacations, anniversaries. It's really time consuming.
These are things I always meant to get to and never did. So that's how I fill up some of my "extra" time.
I know your situation is different, but there have been days when I have done absolutely nothing.

(14,120 posts)I always had something. Classes, Work, always on alert (being on streets made being on alert was a 24/7 job even in a shelter), ect.
But now, nothing. My appointment is now fully furnished, got new clothes, new walker, plenty of food, even got a beautiful Japanese inspired tea pot with matching cups.
I can't do much because of my health. But I was always doing something or having to do something.
My mental health therapists says I need to learn to "Stand Down". I'll know if my physical therapists agrees in a couple of hours. All my doctors and therapists are talking with each other.
Apparently all my other specialists and my GP has had a talk with my neurologist and reminded him that he was to get ahold of me if there is any issues with my insurance not covering something. Also that he's the doctor I'm the patient. I can't write my own scripts.
Now I don't even have a doctor to yell about.

Not sure how I would do if given your situation. I applaud you for the positivity you've had throughout the past few years. I know sometimes it must have been extremely difficult, and I'm sure you had your moments, but you always seem to spring back and look forward. Not everyone could do that even with less obstacles and struggles.
