I have to assume the artist(s) built the big pile of sand and then sculpted it from the top down so as not to step on their own work?

so they used scaffolding and 30 artists worked on the exterior as they worked their way down. Then they sprayed it with glue so hopefully it won't melt in the first rainfall LOL.
