Who are Hogwartz connoisseurs in the Lounge?

So I'm on the short list of deciding which projects to lose myself during this coming Covid self-sheltering in Florida and I'm down to making a Christmas Village with the Harry Potter villages I have been collecting over the last year and a half. I would like to make it three dimensional, so, for this, I have been studying maps (Mostly the marauder map) to figure out placement for the Whomping Willow, Shrieking Shak, Hagritz Hut etc.

I have a rough map, but thought I would run it by the Lounge because I know someone has already created a village of their own and can give me ideas on what light-weight supplies I can use to create elevation. I have to say, I am having trouble figuring out how to put Hogwartz on the top of the mountain/hill, and have the lake wrap around it as it is shown on the map. To my eye, something does not compute when you look at all the other things that have to take place. i.e. I don't see any waterfalls, so I don't know how the lake appears to be on the same level as the train station.

I'm so confused.

specifically modelmaking. There's tons of info and sources for exactly what you're trying to do: hills, water, vegetation, and so on and on.

One of my old family friends was a model railroader, and had his 2-car garage absolutely filled with a miniature world.

Anyhow I love the idea of building Hogwarts Castle and surrounds for the holidays.

... as it is with the stairways on the inside.

Any map you decide on may be correct so long as the gestalt is right.

I'll probably put the Hogwartz castle up high, and the next level will be the more iconic Hogwartz locations, like the lake and Hagritz' Hut.

Next level will be the Shrieking Shak and the Village.

Finally, back home in Muggles World will be the bottom.

I think I can even make my own lake with an island that will have Dumbledorf's resting place.
