and then putting it 'on sale' at the original price.

(11,988 posts)They will have an item occasionally like a can of beans or something marked down a miniscule amount. Normally $2.19 & now on sale for something like $2.09. Funny thing is that the shelf is completely cleared out. Of course it seems like that is always something I have on my list, so I can't buy any.

When you look under the sign the regular price is $.50 per can - the very same price.
They usually use an odd number because apparently Americans can't do math with odd numbers in their heads such as '3 for $1.59" when the regular price is $.53

Or is it 100 times the current price and that is it.
