Gloria Swanson playing former silent movie star 'Norma Desmond' whose career pretty much ended when talkies started but she doesn't seem to realize it. She hires a young writer to help her with a script that will be her come back film. Things just don't go as planned.

Honestly one of the best movies ever made. The 'I'm ready for my close up, Mr. De Mille' is one of the most classic lines in the history of film making.
