"a bacon-wrapped hot dog in a fried pickle"

Each year, the Eastern States Exposition rolls out some new food items designed to encourage fairgoers to throw out the diet for a day and pig out. When the six-state fair in West Springfield, Massachusetts, welcomes the public from Sept. 17 to Oct. 3, what will the newest sugary, carby, cholesterol-dense, deep-fried delights be?

The ‘Bacon Wrapped Dilly Dilly Dog’ is more than just a corn dog. It’s a hot dog wrapped in bacon, then put inside a huge hollowed-out pickle, then dipped in cornmeal batter, deep fried and served on a stick. It will be sold in the Meatball Factory’s booth by the Lion’s Club, and outside the concert venue.

Biggie Waffle Burger
White Hut, which has a booth in the central food court, is bringing back an old favorite, the fried onion-bacon double cheeseburger between two waffles. But White Hut has goosed it up a notch. Now, their Biggie Waffle Burger also has hash browns inside it and is drizzled with sriracha syrup.

Deep Fried Pineapple
The Coffee Break, which has a booth in the Midway food court, is introducing deep fried pineapple on a stick, drizzled with coconut sauce. Chef Luis Lopez, who is in his seventh year at The Big E, specializes in the ultimate fair foods: deep fried Oreos, deep fried Snickers bars, deep fried PBJs.

I'd pass on the others, too greasy & fatty, but fried pineapple - yum, yum!

A country club I worked at made an appetizer that was a chunk of fresh pineapple wrapped in bacon & sprinkled with brown sugar & baked. Served with a fancy toothpick & very tasty!

Bet it was pretty popular at the club. Heck, I'm weird and like pineapple on a Hawaiian pizza - when I allow myself to carb splurge occasionally. I also like pineapple cole slaw - another big yum.

I am in absolute unconditional love with the Chicana ladies who prepare them on mobile propane carts and sell them at the shakedowns outside the Dead shows…

You can submerge yourself in hours upon hours of booze cannabinoids psilocybin and assorted hallucinogenics and bombard your senses with loud eclectic acid rock jazz fusion music and disheveling light shows and just one of these bacon wrapped miracle meat sticks smothered in onions and peppers will instantly infuse you with life again…

Theoretically speaking of course. 😳
